Learn how to fix a Briggs and Stratton 3HP Pull Start.
- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Cleaning Materials
- Replacement Cord if Required
- 10mm and 13mm socket
Remove the 13mm Carburetor and Starter Mounting Bolt and also the 10mm bolt then remove the pull start.
Carefully pry up the cover being mindful of the high tension spring that will be underneath.
Clean any dirt and gunge from the starter and check it for any problems, if your spring is damaged you may need to replace it or carefully make a clip in the end.
Once any problems have been repaired replace the clip and pry out the start cord. You may then rewind the cord doing about 4-8 turns as demonstrated in the video.
You may then reattach the starter to your mower as shown.
