Learn how to fix a Briggs and Stratton 3HP Pull Start.
Tools/Parts:

- Flat Head Screwdriver
- Cleaning Materials
- Replacement Cord if Required
- 10mm and 13mm socket
Step 1
Remove the 13mm Carburetor and Starter Mounting Bolt and also the 10mm bolt then remove the pull start.
Step 2
Carefully pry up the cover being mindful of the high tension spring that will be underneath.
Step 3
Clean any dirt and gunge from the starter and check it for any problems, if your spring is damaged you may need to replace it or carefully make a clip in the end.
Step 4
Once any problems have been repaired replace the clip and pry out the start cord. You may then rewind the cord doing about 4-8 turns as demonstrated in the video.
Step 5
You may then reattach the starter to your mower as shown.
